Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers are the American Football team of both North and South Carolina. They are part of the NFL South division and play in Panther Stadium in Charlotte, NC. In 1993, the team was founded as the 29th team in the NFL. Currently there are 32 teams which make up the NFL. The Panthers' last appearance in the Super Bowl was in 2015, but they lost to the Denver Broncos. This was after their only other Super Bowl appearance in 2004, when they were defeated by the New England Patriots.
The team colors are black, white, and Panther Blue, and the mascot is named Sir Purr.
In 2018 David Tepper purchased the team from original owner Jerry Richardson for a record breaking $2.3 billion! As shown below, generally teams represent a region or group of states. The Carolina Panthers clearly belong to North and South Carolina.
