Coraline







An adventurous 11 year old girl finds a secret door in her new home and discovers an alternate world on the other side. This parallel world that she uncovers is hauntingly similar to her real life except much better in some ways. Her new parents actually pay her attention and she yearns for their approval. All of her dreams are coming true. Her new mother adores her and wants to keep her in this new world forever. Little does Coraline know, there is a sinister twist to it all.  


Oh. And all the people have buttons for eyes. For Coraline to remain in this world, she must turn in her eyes and sew buttons in their place. 




This movie is a stop motion picture, directed by Henry Selick. He is known for his other stop motion films: The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach, and Coraline.

Sweet Caroline The song, Sweet Caroline, by Neil Diamond is a famous and truly American song sung at many sporting events and in bars across the country. The song was written most notably about JFK's daughter, Caroline Kennedy, whom Diamond had seen in a picture and then written about. Caroline Kennedy

Caroline Kennedy was born in 1957 to then Senator John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy. She grew up in Georgetown Washington DC and moved to the White House when she was 3. Her younger brother, John, was born just shy of her third birthday. She is the iconic little girl of JFK and grew up riding ponies and flying airplanes. She was pictured on a pony named Macaroni and that is the picture Neil Diamond says inspired the hit song Sweet Caroline. Just 5 days before her 6th birthday, her father was assassinated and within two weeks she, her mother, and brother moved from the White House back to Georgetown. Soon the house became a tourist attraction and they again moved, but now to the Upper East Side in Manhattan. When she was 10, Caroline christened the USS John F Kennedy aircraft carrier. Caroline's Comedy club first opened in 1982 as a cabaret club in Chelsea , NY. Caroline Hirsch started booking comedians in her club and helped to launch the careers of several big name comedians. Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Stewart, Chris Rock, Tim Allen, Jay Leno, Rosie O'Donnell, and Billy Crystal all had their start at Caroline's.   As the club became more popular, it relocated to Times Square to accommodate the bigger crowds.
